I'm currently focused on the finishing of my pieces. I've noticed that while I'm confident in my abilities to explore form, I'm often underwhelmed with the result of my pieces after glaze firing. I understand this as a sign that I should prioritize test tiles as a means of exploring finishes, rather than wishing for the best on pieces that I'm more invested in.
While finishing is often on my mind, the other key component to my work right now is exploring the play between wheel thrown pieces and hand-built or altered components.
